In UK, the caravan sales were at an all time high last year. The financial system of UK recorded a record sale of 2 billion pounds owing to the rising popularity of caravans and camping holidays. Caravan holidaying is considered to be the most preferred pastime in the UK. About 30 pounds is spent everyday on camping and caravan by the holiday makers. This figure is inclusive of food sales, drink sales and petrol sales. Caravan and camping holiday in the UK rounds up to about 17 million. This figure is devoid of the pitch fees and sales. Considering them, the sales would rise to about 50 pounds per day. The pitch fees are used for the site development and for employing the local residents.

A current research on Caravan and camping holidays shows that about 57% of the holiday makers spend their money in pubs and approximately the equal percentage use their money for the local eateries. As about 70% of the holiday makers visit the tourist attraction sites, these sites are highly benefited with the rise in the ticket sales.

Usually, a normal stay is for four days at these caravans and camping holidays in the UK. The food and drink sales along with the visits to the local attractions have highly benefited the rural incomes. Tent camping can prove inconvenient with regard to storage facilities and hence the shops and the restaurants surrounding these camp areas attain high product sales. The ever increasing popularity of this caravan and camping will surely profit the rural economy in the future. In a particular survey, it says that about 97% of the people that went for camping and caravanning got into activities like swimming, walking and cycling on a regular basis. This whole camping and caravanning is keeping the rural economy alive.
